- Robert A. Lommen, 75, Buxton, ND, died Saturday, Aug. 12, 2000, at home.
Robert Arthur Lommen was born May 11, 1925, the son of Sidney and Helena (Berg) Lommen, in Fargo. He grew up and graduated from high school in Thompson, ND. He joined the Army Air Corps in 1943. He graduated from Mayville (ND) Teachers College with a degree in mathematics. He taught in Grand Forks. He managed the family's banking business and served as an insurance agent in Buxton. He married Joyce Spoonland on August 8, 1954, they were married 36 years and they shared six children.
He is survived by a son, David (Kari), Grand Forks, ND; and five daughters: Laurie (Kelly) Ratzell, Littleton, CO; Lanelle (Eric) Richards, Huntingtown, MD; Rhonda (Jeff) Moorman, Huntingtown, MD; Darcee (Bryan) Capdeville, Bozeman, MT; Kristen (Mark) Lind, Grand Forks, ND; 16 grandchildren; and brothers, Richard (Donna) Lommen, Bismarck, ND and Alan (Dorothy) Lommen, Bismarck, ND.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Jean Gibbons.
Services: Thursday, August 17, 2000, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Buxton, ND.
Burial: Immanuel #2 Cemetery, Buxton.
