- Ardis M. Olson, 79, Minot, passed away on Sunday, February 9, 2014 in a Minot Rehabilitation Center of cancer.
Ardis M. Fuchs was born the youngest of three children on April 5, 1934 in Renville County, ND, a daughter of Quirin and Louise (Schmidt) Fuchs. Ardis was raised on the family farm and attended country school at Muskego #3 through the eighth grade. Grade 9 and 10 were spent at Foxholm and in 1951, Ardis graduated from Carpio High School. Following her graduation, she moved to Minot, where she was employed by Saunders Drug and Elite Studio.
On August 12, 1953, Ardis was united in marriage to Robert D. Olson at St. Leo's Catholic Church. Ardis was a homemaker, raising the couple's five children. Besides being a homemaker, Ardis sold Avon for a number of years, and also assisted her husband Bob with his business ventures. Bob and Ardis wintered in Bullhead City, AZ. Bob passed away July 12, 2007.
Ardis enjoyed gardening, canning, and spending time on her computer connecting with friends and family near and far. She was a member of St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, where she was involved with Confraternity of Christian Mothers, CCD, and was a greeter.
Ardis is survived by her children: Terence (Joan) Olson, Kimberly (Keith) Vosseteig, Jeffrey (Tracy) Olson, Penny (Tim) Chole; four grandchildren; sister: Lois Anderson; sister-in-law: Elvie Fuchs; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws also survive.
Ardis was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert Olson, Daughter Nancy A. Olson on January 25, 2009, a granddaughter Laura Olson-Grunder on December 17, 2013 and a brother Orlan Fuchs.
Visitation: Wednesday, February 12, 2014 from 2 until 7 pm at Thompson Larson Funeral Home, Minot
Vigil Prayer Service: Wednesday at 7 in Thompson Larson Funeral Home Chapel, Minot
Mass of Christian Burial: Thursday, February 13, 2014 at 10:30 am at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, Minot
Graveside Service: Thursday at 1:15 at Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot
