A kind, gentle lady who made you always feel welcome. Her two children, Donnie and Marie, were the center of her life. Thank you for your kindness you showed to me Marie. When Cornelius returned from the hospital shortly after Donnies' fatal accident those of us who had been at the house heard him return. We came around to the front of the house just in time to see them both collapse on the porch sobbing uncontrollably. We didn't know exactly what happened, but we assumed it was terrible. It was a scene I've never forgotten. It still brings me much pause when I remember it even 60 years later.
