Anton was the third of nine children born to Albert and Anne (Rustvold) Serum. On his 1918 Draft Card he was listed as an optician in Yuma, AZ. He was a veteran of the first World War, serving in the Aviation Corp. Anton died of pneumonia at the VA Hospital in Waco, TX. Although he was listed as a widower, nothing is known about his wife.
