- Arlo Forseth, age 77, resident of the Town of Scott, near Spooner, Wisconsin died on Wednesday, February 11, 2015, at the Benedictine Living Center of Spooner.
Arlo was born in Spooner on July 7, 1937, to parents Oscar and Ardys Forseth (Lewis). He graduated from Spooner High School in 1955, and then moved to Rockford, Illinois where he began working for Sunstrand Aviation.
Arlo would work there his entire career as a machinist and also in Quality Control. While living in the Rockford area, he served on the Volunteer Fire Dept. in New Milford, IL and would serve as Chief for several years. He retired in 1986 and moved back to the Spooner area where he enjoyed woodworking and building houses. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved ice fishing. He was loved by many and his family and friends will miss his quick wit and companionship.
Arlo is survived by his children: Diane Jones of IL, Michael Forseth of IA, Gary Forseth of S.C., Darrin Forseth of IL, grandchildren Christopher and Nichole Crane of IL, brothers and sisters: Beverly Johnson of IL, Alan (Doris) Forseth of MN, Dale (Patricia) Forseth of WI, George (Lucy) Forseth of WI, Doug (Ruth) Forseth of MN, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Also a special thanks to Dawn Petersen, Mary Scalzo and the great team at Regional Hospice.
Arlo is preceded in death by his parents, daughter Gina Crane, and sister Doris Braaten.
A gathering of friends and family will be held on Tuesday, February 17, 2015, from 10- 11am at the Scalzo Taylor Chapel in Spooner. A brief service will be held with Pastor Iler Anderson officiating. A Memorial service will be held at a later date.
