Widow of Oscar Nelson. Mother of Mrs. Edward (Dawn) Ronlund of Crescent City, Mrs. Herbert (Nita) Whitaker of Orick and the late Darrell Nelson. Grandmother of Carol Pearson of Bellingham, Washington, Larry Suslick of Port Angeles, Washington, Vickie Bozzoli of Eureka, Michael Ronlund of Crescent City, Linda Marie Nelson, Richard Dale Nelson and Diane Elaine Nelson, all of McKinleyville, Dennis and Dana Whitaker, both of Orick, and Darell Whitaker of Ft. Ord. She is also survived by six great grandchildren.
Mrs. Nelson was a native of Attica, New York, aged 71. She organized the Garden Club of Orick and Patrick's Point, and was a member of the Eureka branch of the Fuchsia Society, a Fellow of the Royal Horticultural Society of London and a member of the Scottish Rock Garden Society.
Services will be held at the Chapel of Pierce Mortuary Tuesday, March 28, at 11 a.m. with inurnment at Ocean View Cemetery.
