- Delrose Gertrude Hegstad was born on November 2, 1919 in Sanborn, Minnesota to William and Minnie Scharman Heydlauff. She grew up in Sanborn and graduated from Sanborn High School in 1936. On August 18, 1942 she and Minver Hegstad were married in Sanborn. Following their marriage they made their home in Slayton and Delrose worked as a telephone operator, clerk at the Broadway Super Store in Slayton and later as bookkeeper for Murray County Feed and Grain. Delrose retired in 1979. Minver passed away on March 8, 2007. Delrose remained in their home until January 2012 when she became a resident of the Golden Living Center-Slayton. Delrose passed away there on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at the age of 92. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Slayton. Delrose served as past treasurer of WELCA, Sunday school teacher, Bible study leader, and on Altar Guild. Delrose enjoyed spending time in her vegetable and flower garden, baking, and cooking.
Survivors include her son, Michael Hegstad and his wife, Jan of Poway, CA, son-in-law, Russell Seeklander of Marshall, MN, two grandsons, Thomas Hegstad and Ryan Hegstad both of Poway, CA.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Minver, daughter, Patricia Seeklander, and eight brothers and sisters and their spouses, Clarice and Harld Yackel, Marie and Ewald Yackel, Edna and Merrill Otto, Irma and Minor Fisher, Lloyd and Avenelle Heydlauff, Grace and Clarence Nelson, Helen Heydlauff and George Heydlauff.
