- Judd Pederson 34 years of age, passed away on Friday, November 2, 2012 in Salmon, Idaho. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, November 10, 2012 11:00 a.m. at the Challis High School Gymnasium. Judd McGee Pederson was born on July 24, 1978 in Seattle, Washington the youngest of three children born to Charles and Ella JoAnne (Whitworth) Pederson. He lived in Marysville, Washington and at the age of two, the family moved to the Pahsimeroi Valley where he attended school in Patterson, and the Challis Elementary. They moved to Moreland, Idaho where he attended middle school and Snake River High School. He returned to Challis for his senior year but didn't have enough credits to graduate. He went to Blackfoot to live with Graydon where he went to the Second Chance High School and graduated in 1997. During his high school years at Snake River he wrestled and lettered in football. Following his graduation he went to the American School of Broadcasting in Spokane, Washington, where he used the handle of "J.P. McGee". He lived with his aunt and uncles while he was in school and spent a lot of time with the Pederson family. He returned to Challis and spent time enjoying friends, family and going to concerts and special events. In 2007 Judd moved into the Challis Assisted Living facilities for two years, then to Pocatello to Hill Crest Haven for one year and then to the Discovery Care Center in 2010, so he could be closer to family and friends. Wherever Judd was he had is following of friends that cared for him and took him to all sorts of events that they enjoyed. His friends were a big part of his life as well as his extended family. Judd loved music, concerts and eating out at restaurants. Road trips were always an adventure with him and he always came home with a new shirt from where he's been. He collected patches from all over and saved concert stubs. He had a unique relationship with each of his parents and loved his sister and brother. He was such a funny kid with his sayings and actions that kept the family in stitches. He was a super uncle and loved to play with his nieces and nephews, watch movies and introduced them to Rock & Roll music that their parents probably wouldn't have allowed. Family was very important to Judd. He cared deeply about each of them and especially cherishing his mother. He is survived by Sister Shanna Pederson and Anthony Tappan of Challis, ID.; brotherGraydon (Stella) Pederson of Richland, WA; nieces and nephews: Bryant (Kailie) Sullivan of Jacksonville, N.C., Angus Campbell, and Marigwen Campbell of Boise, ID., JoAnna Campbell of Challis, ID., Jacob Edens and Hazel Edens of Richland, WA. and Jack Sullivan of Jackson, N.C.;Aunts: Kathleen Latimer and Jeannie (Roy) Ellis of Ellis, ID., Loretta Pederson of Woodinville, WA. and Avis Murphy of Anacortes, WA.; Uncles: Ronnie (Julie) Pederson of Anacortes, WA. and Allan Pederson of Houston, AK. He was preceded in death by parents, three uncles: Timothy Whitworth, George Whitworth and McGee Latimer. Arrangements are under the direction of the Jones & Casey Funeral Home of Challis, Idaho.
